Rachel Sams, the editor of Albuquerque Business First, has resigned. Her last day will be March 26.
Chris Keller of Business First writes, “During Sams’ tenure, Business First created ‘Reinventing Our City,’ a series of news coverage and events that looked at how Albuquerque could reinvent its economy. The series received a Society for Advancing Business Editing and Writing finalist award. Business First also established a television news partnership with KOB 4, bringing in new audience for the organization’s coverage.
“In 2019, Sams and the Albuquerque newsroom won American City Business Journals‘ Eagle Award, which recognizes overall market performance. Also in 2019, Sams participated in the Poynter Institute’s Leadership Academy for Women in Digital Media.
“Sams currently serves as secretary of the Society of Professional Journalists Rio Grande Chapter.
“Before being named editor-in-chief in 2014, Sams served as Business First’s managing editor and associate editor.”
