Kelly Poe, a business reporter at the Birmingham News, has been hired by the Charleston (S.C.) Post and Courier.
At the South Carolina paper, Poe is a newsletter producer. On LinkedIn, she writes that she is “completely changing and relaunching the way the South’s oldest daily newspaper interacts with their readers in their inboxes.”
Poe was a business reporter for the Alabama paper for slightly more than three years. Before that, she spent 16 months at the Greensboro News & Record, covering Guilford County government, development and business.
She is a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate. Before graduating, she completed internships at The News & Observer in Raleigh, The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in Little Rock, The Herald-Sun in Durham and The StarNews in Wilmington. She also wrote for Carolina’s independent student newspaper, The Daily Tar Heel.
