Budd McLaughlin, the business editor of the Huntsville Times in Alabama, says so long to readers on Sunday as the paper begins publishing three days a week instead of daily.
McLaughlin writes, “I have to thank my business writing staff – Marian Accardi, Ken Kesner and Mike Marshall – who wrote stories about Huntsville’s business community everyday with a personal touch.
“After today, The Times will be printed three days a week – Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays – as it emphasizes a 24/7 digital presence.
“Tomorrow will be my first day as a former Times employee, bringing an end to a 31-year newspaper career in Huntsville.
“There are no regrets, but I can’t say no tears.
“A lot of these people I’ve known for 31 years, and we may never see each other again. That is the sadness.
“We worked side by side during natural disasters and man-made tragedies.”
