Al Jazeera English has appointed Eromo Egbejule as Africa editor, editing, commissioning, and overseeing news, features, and related coverage of sub-Saharan Africa for the website.
Occasionally, he will also be writing analysis and long reads.
Previously, he was reporting and editing breaking news, feature pieces and data investigations from across the continent for the company.
He has also worked as a stringer and consulting media trainer at the Thomson Reuters Foundation and was Africa editor at OZY Media. He has also worked freelance for The Guardian.
He was also a contributor and then served as West Africa editor at The Africa Report in Lagos, Nigeria.
Egbejule has a M.S. in data journalism from Columbia University, New York.
