Ximena Bustillo, who has been covering food and agriculture policy at Politico, is leaving to join NPR’s Washington desk.
She will start later this month.
Bustillo is the author of the Morning and Weekly Agriculture newsletters. She covers immigration, climate, labor, supply chain and equity issues and policies daily. Previously she worked as a legislative reporter on the legislative tracking team analyzing bills related to agriculture, trade, cannnabis, education and spending.
Before joining Politico, Bustillo was a breaking news reporter for the Idaho Statesman in Boise covering general assignments, crime, courts, coronavirus, protests and education. While at the Statesman, she helped spearhead a project to produce up-to-date Covid-19 news in Spanish through print, digital and broadcast formats.
She is a Boise State University graduate.
