After three and a half years, Douglas Gillison is leaving the economics desk at the Washington bureau of Agence France-Presse to become a senior investigator at The Sentry, an investigative and policy organization that tracks dirty money tied to atrocities and corruption in Africa.
Prior to AFP, Gillison covered human rights, white-collar crime and law enforcement and served as executive editor of The Cambodia Daily.
His work has appeared in Time, Foreign Policy, The Village Voice, The New York Times and The Intercept, among other publications
Gillison received a bachelor’s degree in French language and literature and classical civilization from Oberlin College.
