Adweek announced earlier this week a number of promotions and new hires.
They are:
Kathryn Lundstrom has been promoted to the post of sustainability reporter at Adweek. She joined as a breaking news reporter in 2019 and then served as a senior news writer. She has also worked at the DONUT and Texas Tribune. Lundstrom graduated from University of Texas at Austin.
Jess Zafarris has been promoted to director of audience engagement. Previously, she served as an audience engagement editor. She is also the author of a middle-grade nonfiction book of word origins and etymology. Once Upon a Word: A Word-Origin Dictionary for Kids. She has also freelanced and interned at Denver Business Journal. Zafarris is a graduate of University of Colorado at Boulder.
Julian Gamboa is now senior social media and community manager. Previously, he has served as a marketing associate, marketing and social media manager and co-host of #AdweekChat. He has also worked at Marketer Moves, LinkedIn and Telemundo, NBC Universal. Gamboa graduated from University of California, Berkeley.
Colin Daniel has joined as a digital editor. He comes from Hearst, where he was a local deals curator. He has also worked at P.S. Media and has edited for Haute Residence. He has also worked at Miami New Times and freelanced for The Real Deal. Daniels is a graduate of Emerson College.
Chloé Harper Gold has also joined as a digital editor. She has also written and edited for High Times and was a staff writer at Green Rush Daily and has edited for Horizon House, Inc. Gold graduated from The New School.
Breana Mallamaci is now director of video at Adweek. Previously, she has served as a video editor and senior video producer, she has also freelanced for DGL Group LLC. Mallamaci graduated from School of Visual Arts.
Nick Gardner is now a production director at Adweek. Previously, he has served as host of Gen ZEOs podcast, video producer/editor and senior video and podcast producer. He has also worked at The Diamondback and was an intern at InStreamOne. Gardner graduated from University of Maryland.
Rafael Canton has joined Adweek as a breaking news reporter, brand marketing. He also works freelance and was founder, editor, podcast host and principal contributor at NBA Trades, He has also worked at Complex Media and other outlets. Canton is a graduate of Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst.
David Kaplan, interim brand and performance marketing editor, is now officially leading this coverage area. Previously, he was story desk editor. He was also an editor at kambr and was a video/publishing editor at AdExchanger.com. He was also managing editor at TVExchanger.com. Kaplan has previously also worked at Adweek from 2001 to 2004. Kaplan graduated from Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus.
