Peter Gannon, head of editorial content management at Acuris, the parent of Mergermarket and Dealreporter, sent out the following announcement to the staff:

Acuris Staff –

Over the past six months we have undertaken a thorough review of our editorial support operations with the aim of exploring cost efficiencies while maintaining effectiveness and quality. This review has resulted in two measures:

1.      The very difficult decision to reduce the number of Content Editor roles in the United States
2.      The creation of two new roles for the Americas within the Content Management group:  Regional Content Manager, Americas and Senior Content Editor.

The Regional Content Manager, Americas will have responsibilities for news sourcing, stringer management, content editing, and external editorial relations (proprietary opp complaints, etc.).

The Senior Content Editor will have responsibilities in the areas of prop and aggregation editing, external editorial relations, and news sourcing.  This role will be a new half-time role to support the late-day US shift bridging the US and Asian business days.

These newly created positions are open for any internal candidates, and we encourage anyone interested to apply. Decisions on these positions are expected to be made by Friday, April 26th.

The existing US-based CE roles for Equities and Transactions (in New York and California) are being offshored effective immediately, and content editing duties will be handled by our existing offshore team who will be working to dedicated US hours. Please note that this does not impact the structure for Fixed Income content editors.

While our US-based Equities and Transactions CE team is leaving us today, they are eligible and encouraged to apply for either of the newly created position described above, or for any other open positions within Acuris. For those team members who may not be returning, we sincerely thank them for their contributions over the years and wish them luck in the future.

To those outside of the US, we note that the structure we are adopting here now brings us much closer in line with that of the European and Asian regions. Lean, but strong teams of local Content Editors and Content Managers, backed by our growing and highly skilled editing team in our Mumbai office led by Head Content Editor Mouparna Bandyopadhyay, India Head Content Editor Pinjala Kundu and deputy Amrutha Penumudi.

We will continue to keep everyone updated through this transition. If you have any specific questions with regard to scheduling or anything related to the Content Editing team, please don’t hesitate to contact Mouparna.
