American City Business Journals, which has more than 40 business newspapers across the country, will launch the Providence Business Journal in early October.
Steph Solis of the Boston Business Journal writes, “The Providence Business Journal will be a digital-only site, publishing daily online. Stories published by the Providence Business Journal will be able to be shared across ACBJ’s 43 sister business journals, while also publishing relevant news and information from other ACBJ cities in the network, such as Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Albany. The new publication will be overseen by Steph Solis, who serves as digital editor of a sister publication, the Boston Business Journal. Mary C. Serreze, a journalist with broad experience covering government, energy and land use in New England, has been hired as the Providence Business Journal’s first reporter.
“The move has been in the works for several months, according to ACBJ executives, as the company sought to tap into Rhode Island’s growing economy and respond to interest from readers and advertisers in the region.”
