American City Business Journals is testing a new home page on the Internet with five of its weekly business newspapers.
The Sacramento Business Journal is one of those papers. It writes, “The easier-to-navigate home page allows the Business Journal greater design tools and flexibility, including the ability to feature breaking stories, special reports and graphics. In addition, the appearance of the home page will change daily and more often, if news warrants.
“Daily stories will continue as always with free access. At least one print-only story will appear on the home page and be available to non-subscribers. In short, all stories that appear on the home page — daily and print reports — are available to home page visitors.
“Additional benefits include online access to People on The Move for subscribers during the first four weeks, and then it will be available to everyone after one month. Also, a library of 1.7 million stories from American City Business Journals Inc.-owned newspapers, from Seattle to South Florida, will be available down the road.”
