American City Business Journals, which operates more then 40 weekly business newspapers, is starting Maryland Inno to cover entrepreneurs and innovators in the state, reports Baltimore Business Journal editor in chief Joanna Sullivan.

Sullivan reports, “We’re now taking it up a notch with the Sept. 14 launch of Maryland Inno, a digital media, events and data company that will focus on emerging innovators, growth-stage startup investors, university incubators and other players driving Maryland’s current and future economic growth.

“Maryland Inno will be part of a national network in more than 40 cities nationwide through the Baltimore Business Journal’s parent company, Charlotte, North Carolina-based American City Business Journals. Currently, about 20 ACBJ cities already have Inno websites operating, and on Sept. 14, the rest of the markets around the country, including Maryland Inno, will go live.

“The new Maryland Inno, led by BBJ technology reporter Morgan Eichensehr, will provide a portal to and for the local innovation economy. Eichensehr, along with the entire Inno team, will offer news, analysis, resources, events, careers, data and more to area entrepreneurs, executives, stakeholders, startups and businesses.”
