Above the Law executive editor set to depart

Elie Mystal

Above the Law executive editor Elie Mystal is set to leave the organization.

He won a contest to be the new editor of Above the Law on Aug. 19, 2008. On Sept. 15 of that year, Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy and the Great Recession was here.

Mystal has served in various editorial capacities at Above the Law and Breaking Media. Before joining Above the Law, he covered politics and popular culture at City Hall News and the New York Press.

Mystal has a degree in Government from Harvard University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School. He was formerly a litigator at Debevoise & Plimpton.
