Colleagues,
I’m pleased to share that Dan Shar is appointed General Manager for MarketWatch.
He joins at an exciting time for MarketWatch, with a new look and feel under development, new digital projects in the pipeline, and audience growing.
Dan hails from Maxim, Inc where he served as General Manager and Head of Digital. In this role, he managed all aspects of digital strategy and operations, including product and technology, content, sales, and strategic partnerships.
Prior to joining Maxim, Dan spent 14 years at Condé Nast in key executive, operations, and marketing roles. He served as Vice President and Digital GM for Fairchild Fashion Media, where he was the digital lead for all FFM properties, including WWD and Style.com. Before that, he was Vice President of Revenue Operations for Condé Nast Digital, where he led several teams, including ad operations, inventory management and web analytics.
He graduated from The University of Pennsylvania with a degree in communications from The Annenberg School of Communications and a concentration in Marketing from The Wharton School of Business. He will report to me.
Dan lives in New York City with his wife and son — all avid Red Sox fans.
