“60 Minutes” is a three-time finalist in the category.
Its finalists are “Brain Hacking,” with Jeff Fager as executive producer, and for “Chief of Chobani,” which was also executive produced by Fager, and for “Passports for Sale,” also executive produced by Fager.
Fusion Media Group is a finalist in the category for “Off the Shelf: The Shark Cartilage Industry,” which was executive produced by Nicolás Ibargüen.
The Weather Channel and Telemundo are a finalist in the category for “The Source: The Human Cost Hiddin Within a Cup of Coffee.” The executive producers are Shawn Efran, Solly Granatstein and Marisa Venegas.
In the business and economic documentary category, “America ReFramed” on World has two nominees.
The first is “Farewell Ferris Wheel,” with executive producers Sally Jo Fifer, Christopher Hastings, Justine Nagan and Chris White. The second is “Vegas Baby,” with executive producers Jeremy Chilnick, Hastings, Justine Nagan, Morgan Spurlock and White.
“Frontline” on PBS is also a finalist in the category for “Abacus: Small Enough to Jail.” The executive producers are Raney Aronson, Christopher Clements, Nagan, Gordon Quinn and Betsy Steinberg.
“Independent Lens” on PBS is also a finalist in the category for “The Bad Kids.” The executive producers are Sally Jo Fifer and Lois Vossen.
“Saving Capitalism” on Netflix also garnered a business and economic documentary nomination. The executive producers are Steve Firestone, Nicholas Morton, Rick Rosenthal, Justin Schein, Steve Silberstein and Ryan Smith.
The awards will be presented on Oct. 1 at a ceremony at the Lincoln Center in New York.
