10 vying for six spots on SABEW board

Ten business journalists are running for six three-year spots on the Society of American Business Editors and Writers board.

Four of them are incumbents, while another is a former board member who was not on the board in the past year.

The incumbents are: Sharon Bernstein, visiting professor, Arizona State University, Phoenix; Jonathan Blum, freelance, Harrison, N.Y.; Kim Quillen, business editor, (New Orleans) Times-Picayune; and Walden Siew, top news editor, Reuters.

Longtime board member Gail MarksJarvis, a personal finance journalist for the Chicago Tribune, is also running. MarksJarvis did not seek re-election last year when her term was up.

Also running for spots on the board are: Marla Dickerson, deputy business editor, Los Angeles Times; Ilyce Glink, syndicated columnist, Glencoe, Ill.; Thomas Mucha, managing editor/correspondents, GlobalPost; Cory Schouten, reporter, Indianapolis Business Journal; and Mark Tatge, visiting professor, DePauw University, Greencastle, Ind.
