WUNC hires Business NC’s Campbell

Colin Campbell

North Carolina public radio station WUNC has hired Business North Carolina’s Colin Campbell as its capital bureau chief.

Campbell has been covering the intersection of business and politics for the magazine.

Campbell previously was NC Insider’s editor. He first wrote for The (Raleigh) News & Observer’s publications in 2008 when he freelanced for the Chapel Hill News. He also spent three years covering Johnston County for the Smithfield Herald. At the News & Observer, he wrote for the North Raleigh News and covered the Raleigh City Council before joining its state politics team in 2014.

Campbell is a UNC-Chapel Hill graduate.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
