WSJ’s Smith departing after 22 years

Ethan Smith is leaving the Wall Street Journal after 22 years.

“Working here was a genuine dream come true for me, and I can’t quite believe it’s coming to an end,” he wrote in an email to colleagues. “I’ll be looking for my next adventure.”

Smith was a features editor for The Journal’s weekend business and finance section, Exchange. Since joining the Journal in 2003, he has served in a variety of reporting and editing roles, including Los Angeles bureau chief.

He previously worked at The Industry Standard and New York Magazine. Smith is a graduate of Williams College.
