WSJ’s Rappaport is leaving

Wall Street Journal features editor Liz Rappaport is leaving the company.

“After two decades building a career at this company, today is my last day at the Journal,” she wrote in an email to colleagues. “From the wires to reporting on the Great Recession, bureau-chiefing in L.A. and working with you on delicious narratives for Exchange…I’ve loved the work. And the people. I will miss you all.”

In January, Rappaport wrote about how her family escaped the fires in Pasadena.

Rappaport is an editor for The Journal’s weekend business and finance section, Exchange.

Before that, she was the Journal’s Los Angeles bureau chief. Rappaport has been with he Journal since 2008, when she was a reporter covering markets and banks during the financial crisis. She shifted to editing the credit-markets reporting team and later was a features editor in the Personal Journal section.

She has been a visiting professor of journalism at SUNY Purchase College in New York and has taught winter study courses on media at Williams College.
