Former Wall Street Journal reporter Julie Bykowicz, laid off last month, has been hired by the Baltimore Banner to be its business and enterprise editor.
She will start next month and help expand its business news coverage and edit a team of reporters.
Bykowicz wrote for The Journal about money and influence in Washington. She has covered campaign finance, presidential and congressional elections, the White House and Congress, and national policy issues since 2011.
She joined the Journal in 2017, after working at the Associated Press and Bloomberg News. Before that, she spent a decade as a crime reporter in Baltimore for the Baltimore Sun.
Bykowicz is a University of Missouri graduate.
