Marie Beaudette of The Wall Street Journal, who oversees business, finance and economics coverage, sent the following to the staff on Friday:
Dear friends,
Today is my last day at the Journal. (I always wondered what it would feel like to write one of these notes and now I know! Kinda sucks!)
I won’t even try to sum up the 21 incredible years I spent here. I’ll just say it’s been a pleasure and a gift to work with all of you. I’m in awe of what you accomplish every single day. This is the greatest collection of journalists on the plant, hands down.
You’ve taught me how to do journalism and run teams and what it looks like to be a good human. Thank you so very much.
I’m not going far, and I hope you’ll keep in touch.
