Wall Street Journal editor in chief Matt Murray sent out the following announcement:
Dear all,
Our Enterprise journalism has grown in volume, sophistication and reach in recent years, and has been central to our success in distinguishing The Wall Street Journal. Besides maintaining our excellence in daily news and features, WSJ journalists have propelled an array of new formats and published increasingly impactful stories.
We are excited to announce an expansion of the Enterprise team to extend our journalism further and provide support across the newsroom to amplify our ambitions. Three new jobs form the core of this new set-up. They are:
- Enterprise News Editor: This role will take on responsibility for a chunk of our daily output, ensuring we stay at the leading edge of the news curve and are dominating our beats with the best, smartest big-picture coverage.
- Ahed Editor: We are going to appoint a dedicated editor to take this valuable franchise and make it even sharper, with an eye to new formats and digital formats and reach.
- Enterprise Audience Editor: This job is dedicated to ensuring our work is digitally savvy, informed by the best data and at the cutting edge of all of our storytelling formats. The right candidate would also manage our biggest projects across the newsroom.
These new positions report to Chief Enterprise Editor Matthew Rose. We would encourage anyone in the newsroom who is interested to apply. This is a wide-open opportunity to be part of a new team at the forefront of our journalism.
Best,
