Josh Chin has been named senior global correspondent at The Wall Street Journal.
“My remit is to pursue deeply reported stories where geopolitics collide with tech, money and power,” he wrote on LinkedIn. “In practice, that will still mean a lot of reporting on China, though I’ll have the freedom to stretch my legs, and expend shoe leather, in other parts of the world.”
Chin has been deputy bureau chief in Soeul, running coverage of politics and general news in China. He previously was a reporter based in Beijing.
He also worked at the Global Post in Beijing.
Chin holds a bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University and a master’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
