WSJ reporter Ensign moves to economics team

Wall Street Journal reporter Rachel Ensign has moved to the economics team.

She has been on the banking team for nearly 10 years.

She has been covering millionaires, billionaires, regular people hoping to become millionaires and billionaires, and bankers serving all of the above. Ensign previously covered Bank of America and commercial real estate lending.

Ensign joined the Journal in January 2011 and has covered a number of aspects of the banking industry since then, including financial regulation, small- and mid-sized banks, and personal finance. She was a part of a Journal team that was a finalist for a 2016 Gerald Loeb Award for coverage of the Federal Reserve’s December 2015 interest-rate increase.

She is a graduate of Cornell University.

He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
