Marcelo brings deep experience leading enterprise and investigative journalism across business, finance and economics. He joined Dow Jones Newswires as a software reporter in 1999 before becoming Deputy Tech Editor for wsj.com in 2004. He previously served as the Journal’s Technology Editor, Marketplace Deputy Editor, Deputy Business Editor, Corporate Bureau Chief, and most recently, Enterprise Editor for BFE. Throughout that time, he has worked with hundreds of reporters and on projects that have won Pulitzer, Loeb and SABEW awards.
As I previously noted, Marcelo was recently honored with the Loeb Award’s 2006 Lawrence Minard Editor Award, which he will receive at a dinner next month. The prize announcement accurately recognized him as “one of the newsroom’s most respected editors, mentors and teachers,” committed to excellence, ingenuity and newsroom culture.
His experience, unwavering support, and sharp judgment will be invaluable assets as he elevates our investigative reporting and guides our journalists through incredibly ambitious work.
