WSJ hires two new staffers, promotes a third

The Wall Street Journal has hired two new staffers and promoted a current staffer.

They are:

  • Tshepo Mokoena joins the Journal as an audience strategist working closely with the World team in London. Previously, Mokoena was the Europe editorial director for Vice Media and most recently was a senior editor at New York Magazine’s The Strategist. She will report to Kevin Dubouis in New York starting next month.
  • Daniel Bach is now the audio producer reporting to Sandra Kilhof. Previously, Bach was a contract producer for What’s News.
  • Jacob Ohara is now social video producer. Previously, Ohara was a visuals producer on the social media team.

Chris Roush

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
