WSJ hires Ossola to report and produce “Future of Everything” podcast

Alex Ossola

The Wall Street Journal has hired Alex Ossola to report and produce its “Future of Everything” podcast.

She has previously been Quartz membership editor. She had been with the financial news site for nearly four years. Ossola started as deputy special projects editor and was later special projects editor.

Ossola was previously the managing editor and former features editor at Futurism, where she ran projects on topics like quantum computing and planetary exploration. Before that, she developed an impressive portfolio of health and science-related stories freelancing for sites like Popular Science, Atlantic, the Guardian, Fast Company, Nautilus, Newsweek, and more.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Hamilton College and a master’s degree from New York University.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
