Samantha Henig

Wall Street Journal editor in chief Emma Tucker sent out the following:

Dear all

I’m pleased to share that Samantha Henig will join The Wall Street Journal as Head of Multimedia, overseeing the Audio and Video departments in a newly created role.

Sam is an experienced media strategist and editorial leader who previously founded the audio division at The New York Times and served as Editor-in-Chief at BuzzFeed News. She will set the team’s editorial direction, develop our portfolio and align our resources with our broader audience and commercial goals. Sam joins us on September 8, joining our masthead and reporting to deputy editor in chief Aja Whitaker-Moore.

I also want to announce that Maral Usefi will be departing the Journal. I’d like to thank her for her contribution and wish her well in her next chapter. The video team will report to Aja in the interim.

Emma
