
Robbie Gramer has been hired by The Wall Street Journal as a national security reporter.
He previously worked at Politico and lead author of its national security newsletter, “NatSec Daily.”
Gramer covered the inner workings of Washington’s national security complex, from the White House to the State Department to Congress, and how it affects the world.
He joined Politico in 2024 from Foreign Policy Magazine, where he spent eight years reporting on the State Department and Congress under both the Trump and Biden administrations as the magazine’s diplomatic correspondent.
He has reported from over two dozen countries across Europe, Asia, South America and the Middle East. He was also the host of Foreign Policy’s award-winning podcast, After Hotel Rwanda, about the covert kidnapping of a Rwandan human rights activist and U.S.-led efforts to free him.
Gramer graduated from American University with a degree in international relations.
