The Wall Street Journal has hired Ryan Felton to cover the auto industry.
He has been an investigative reporter on the Special Projects team at Consumer Reports, where he has written about bottled water, electric scooters, and safety recalls in Uber and Lyft vehicles.
Felton previously was at auto industry site Jalopnik, where he was a transportation and technology reporter. His writing and reporting have appeared in The Guardian, The Awl, FiveThirtyEight, Pacific Standard, The Trace, and Al Jazeera America. He was also a freelancer for Reuters in Michigan.
Felton is a graduate of Wayne State University.
