Dear all,
After more than 23 years at The Wall Street Journal, Charles Forelle will be departing to pursue new opportunities. His last day in the office is October 3rd.
Charles has had a long, successful career at the Journal, starting as an intern in our Boston bureau in 2002 before relocating to Europe where he reported from a number of countries before moving to London in 2012. He became Europe finance editor in 2015, financial editor in 2018 and deputy editor in chief in 2023. His reporting has been recognized with the 2007 Pulitzer Prize, an Overseas Press Club Award, a Gerald Loeb Award and the Goldsmith Prize for Investigative Reporting.
Charles’s contributions to the Journal throughout his tenure are innumerable. His exemplary news judgment and passion for storytelling have helped to elevate our journalism and raise the bar for our newsroom. Please join me in thanking Charles and wishing him well in his future endeavors.
