Scott Wenger
The World Bank has hired longtime business journalist Scott Wenger as senior economics editor.
Wenger’s last journalism position was editorial director of Barron’s Advisor.
Prior to Barron’s, Wenger was group editorial director at Arizent. During his time, Arizent’s publication Financial Planning won two SABEW Best in Business Awards: for General Excellence in its category, SABEW’s top prize, and Best Banking/Finance coverage in its category for a multimedia investigative project.
He also worked at the New York Daily News, where he had a 13-year run as managing editor for money and business. There, he launched a small business conference series and a weekly personal finance news magazine.
He also authored an award-winning series on the impact of China’s booming economy on New Yorkers, and was a weekly guest on a New York radio show for nearly a decade.
He has also worked as a business news producer at CNN and CNBC, and as a health care equities analyst at Alex. Brown & Sons.
