The Worcester Business Journal has hired Kevin Koczwara, a longtime Worcester journalist whose work has appeared in the New York Times, Boston Globe and Rolling Stone, as its newest staff writer.
A story on its website states, “Koczwara will lead WBJ’s coverage on two industry beats: energy & environment and manufacturing, which includes the craft beer and cannabis sectors. His first day as a WBJ reporter was Sept. 12.
“‘Kevin comes to WBJ with a great track record of producing insightful, entertaining journalism on a variety of topics,’ WBJ Editor Brad Kane said. ‘I can’t wait for him to dive deep into two of the most important industries in Central Massachusetts.’
“In addition to writing as a freelance journalist since 2009, Koczwara worked as the lead reporter for MassLive’s coverage of the Greater Worcester market and as the news editor for the Millbury Sutton-Chronicle. He has a master’s degree in creative writing from Bennington College in Vermont and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from UMass Amherst.”
