Wired Middle East has joined Condé Nast’s owned portfolio operations in the region after operating the past six years by a licensee.

The publication has been a digital-first, bilingual proposition in English and Arabic, with seasonal print special issues. In addition, the licensee also operated Wired-branded events and a consulting practice.

Dubai-based publisher Nervora had previously operated the magazine. It had also sued Condé Nast after it terminated the license agreement to operate Vogue Arabia.

“Bringing Wired Middle East into the Condé Nast Middle East portfolio reflects both the region’s rapid evolution and our commitment to spotlighting the ideas and breakthroughs shaping its future,” said Thomas Khoury, managing director of Condé Nast Middle East, in a statement. “With its authority across technology, science, business and culture, Wired is uniquely positioned to lead these conversations in the region.”

Wired is also published in Britain, Italy and Japan.

The company’s Middle East operation also includes Architectural Digest Middle East, Condé Nast Traveller Middle East, GQ Middle East and Vogue Arabia.
