Meredith Klein of Meredith on the Media interviewed Dominic-Madori Davis, senior reporter at TechCrunch, about her career.
Here is an excerpt:
- As a senior reporter for TechCrunch, you report on and investigate venture capital and startups with a focus on race, gender, culture, and politics. Can you give us some examples of the stories you’re writing?
- Now, I’m doing more investigations, so working off of tips—workplace issues, the drama of working at a startup, disparities in the funding landscape, etc.
- I want to see how it plays out at the big companies—what is it like to work at Meta right now? Also, seeing what the vibe is as Silicon Valley takes more of a role in politics across a global stage.
- In addition to reporting for TechCrunch, do you support any of TechCrunch’s events (i.e. TechCrunch Disrupt) or awards?
- Yes. I’ll be at the All Stage event in Boston, and I do Disrupt every year. For Disrupt, I moderate panels. But behind the scenes, I am pitching and messaging the events guy and sending names and recommendations for speakers.
