Ty West has been named publisher of the Birmingham Business Journal.
Editor in chief Stephanie Rebman writes, “He succeeds Joel Welker, who announced his retirement this summer.
“West most recently was senior editor of national content for the BBJ’s parent company, American City Business Journals. He started in that role in 2021.
“He first joined the company in 2006 as special sections coordinator for the Birmingham Business Journal and became associate editor shortly after. He was promoted to managing editor in 2010 and editor-in-chief in 2016. In 2021, he joined the corporate content team as senior editor of national content.”
