Mary Catherine (MC) Wellons has been named CNBC’s Washington bureau chief and editorial director, politics.
In this role, Wellons will lead CNBC’s Washington editorial team across platforms.
She currently serves as deputy bureau chief in Washington, where she has played a key role in shaping CNBC’s political and policy coverage and supporting the bureau’s day-to-day operations.
Prior to Washington, Wellons was CNBC’s San Francisco bureau chief, where she helped launch the bureau in 2015 and build the brand’s technology coverage in the Bay Area. Before that, she spent two years in in CNBC’s Los Angeles bureau as a field producer covering media and technology.
In addition to her extensive broadcast experience, Wellons also launched and built CNBC’s first-ever social media team.
