Prior to joining Bloomberg, he was director of communications and senior editor at the Institute for New Economic Thinking, a global economics think tank created by George Soros.

He is the author of two books. “What Goes Up,” an oral history of Wall Street from the Great Depression through the Internet bubble and the 9/11 attacks, was published by Little, Brown and Co. in 2005 and was named one of the year’s best books by Barron’s and Kiplinger’s.

“The Shadow Market,” an examination of the influence of sovereign wealth and state capitalism on the global economy, was published by Scribner in 2010 and was named one of the year’s best books by BusinessWeek.

A business and financial journalist for more than 25 years, he has been an editor, columnist, and Wall Street reporter for Dow Jones Newswires, and has written for The Wall Street Journal, Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe and numerous other major publications.

Prior to entering journalism, he was a communications aide to former New Jersey Governor Jim Florio.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
