Washington state paper hires Barber as housing and biz reporter

Caleb Barber

Caleb Barber has joined The Daily News as the new housing and business reporter.

A story on its website states, “Barber started writing news while attending Linn-Benton Community College in Albany, Oregon for the college’s student-run newspaper, the Linn-Benton Commuter. After a year of learning the ropes, Barber took on the role of editor in chief until he graduated with his associates and transferred to the University of Oregon.

“Barber was active in student journalism as an undergrad at the UO’s School of Journalism and Communication. He wrote features for student magazine Ethos, broke news for the flagship independent student newspaper The Daily Emerald, and delivered both publications by bicycle to news stands across campus.”
