The Washington Post op-ed desk has hired Duncan Mavin as a senior editor based in London.
Mavin expands the page’s range of op-eds on the global economy with a focus on business and economics.
Most recently, he was an editorial advisor to the CEO at Dow Jones before leaving the company in 2021 for Tortoise Media. He has also worked as a managing editor – Barron’s Group and as head of editorial projects – Barron’s Group.
He has also written columns about finance for Bloomberg.
Mavin also held various roles, including Asia life and style editor, Asia editor – Heard on the Street, Europe financial editor and deputy editor money and investing.
He was also financial services reporter and Asia correspondent at the National Post.
Mavin is a graduate of Durham University.
