Washington Post Kimi Yoshino sent out the following on Monday:
We’re thrilled to announce that Ted Hesson is joining National as an immigration reporter, focusing on the leadership, policies and enforcement efforts of the Department of Homeland Security.
Ted comes to us from Reuters, where he has spent the past several years covering the politics and policy of immigration, asylum, and border security. Deeply sourced at and adjacent to DHS, he has broken stories on ICE operations, Trump’s refugee program for white South Africans, and war-displaced Ukrainians forced to leave the United States.
Prior to Reuters, he worked for Politico, where he covered immigration during Trump’s first term in office. Ted holds a master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a bachelor’s degree from Boston College.
Ted starts on July 6. Please join us in welcoming him to The Post.
