WaPo’s new pols deputy, Buffalo axes 160, NY Times sends Sports stalwarts to National

The Washington Post has appointed Brianna Tucker (pictured) as a deputy campaign editor on the National politics desk. Over Newspaper Guild objections, the Buffalo News will axe 160 employees as it moves printing operations to Cleveland. And the New York Times announced the move of six staffers to National—not mentioning they’re from its shuttered Sports desk.
