Today, The Washington Post announced that it has launched a free ad-supported (FAST) channel with Amazon Freevee, a premium free streaming service. Washington Post Television, available 24 hours, 7 days a week, will bring its trusted journalism to new audiences – providing an additional destination for breaking news as it happens, exclusive interviews with newsmakers, and in-depth reporting from the front lines.
On May 6, Washington Post Television will go live with continuous coverage of King Charles III’s coronation, anchored by Washington Post Senior News Anchor Libby Casey in London, alongside Washington Post Senior Correspondent Rhonda Colvin and Contributing Royal Correspondent Sarah Hewson. Washington Post Editorial Writer and Columnist James Hohmann will report from outside of Buckingham Palace, giving the latest on-the-ground updates on this historic day.
“We are thrilled to introduce The Post’s journalism on a service that has such incredible reach. On Amazon Freevee we will be able to reach audiences who are increasingly looking online to get their news and entertainment,” said Micah Gelman, Director of Video at The Post. “This is a new avenue for us to broadcast breaking news with our incredible reporting team, helmed by Libby Casey who brings a deep understanding to a wide range of issues with her experience in breaking news, political stories and major events. We are thrilled for new audiences to seek out her reporting during important news moments.”
Washington Post Television will also offer additional content on Freevee including discussions with the world’s top business leaders, entertainment personalities and authors as part of Washington Post Live, the newsroom’s live journalism platform.
