WABC hires Connolly after WCBS demise

Joe Connolly

Joe Connolly, the longtime business news reporter at WCBS New York (880), will provide a one-minute feature for Red Apple Media crosstown talk WABC (770) highlighting local businesses.

An Inside Radio story reports, “With the demise of WCBS, Connolly brings his 30-plus years of trusted advice to the new vignette series, ‘Business Success Stories with Joe Connolly.’

“‘Joe is the best business news reporter in New York and a highly trusted source for business intelligence,’ Red Apple Media owner John Catsimatidis said in a news release. ‘In the midst of questions about the economy and where it’s going, Joe will find success stories that inspire others. New York radio listeners, especially those who own or run businesses, will benefit from these uplifting interviews.’

“‘John is showing radio stations around the country how to save radio and local news,’ Connolly remarked. ‘He and my former colleague and friend from CBS, Chad Lopez, are leading the industry in finding new ways to reach more listeners through top-quality programming, promos, podcasts, audio production, and station events.'”
