Vox senior reporter Sara Morrison was among those laid off by the publication this week.
She most recently was covering antitrust scrutiny and regulation of Big Tech.
Since she joined Recode/Vox to cover privacy and personal data for the Open Sourced project, Sara has published excellent stories on privacy issues, but she’s also shown she can write sharp, accessible pieces about a gamut of complicated topics, like Section 230, cybersecurity, and the Jan. 6 capitol riots.
Morrison previously covered technology’s impact on the world for Vocativ. Her work has also appeared in the Atlantic, Jezebel, Boston.com, Nieman Reports, and Columbia Journalism Review, among others.
She is a graduate of Wesleyan University and Columbia Journalism School.
