Aruna Viswanatha has been promoted to Washington enterprise editor.
She will report to Damian Paletta. Viswanatha has been a senior reporter in The Journal’s Washington bureau covering national security, the FBI and the Justice Department.
She has spent more than a decade covering federal law enforcement, including the FBI’s focus on China, the special counsel’s investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election, and DOJ’s battles with big banks in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.
Viswanatha joined the Journal in 2015 from Reuters. She went to college at Rutgers University in New Jersey and started out her career writing about the new suburbs in New Delhi and big law firms in New York.
