Variety has hired Tatiana Siegel as an executive editor for film and media. Siegel “will help guide Variety’s coverage of the film and media business, as well as write covers, features, analysis pieces and investigative stories.”
Siegel begins on Jan. 1.
Recently, she served as a senior writer at Rolling Stone and as editor at large at The Ankler, a newsletter in Los Angeles about the entertainment industry.
Previously, she was at The Hollywood Reporter, where she has spent over 9 years in various roles, including senior film writer, deputy film editor, and executive film editor.
She worked at Variety from August 2007 to June 2012 as a film reporter.
Siegel earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University and a master’s degree in journalism from New York University.
