Variety promotes Stephan to film reporter

Katcy Stephan has been promoted to film reporter at entertainment industry publication Variety.

William Earl of Variety writes, “Stephan joined Variety in 2021 as social media editor. Under her leadership, Variety’s cumulative social footprint across major platforms has nearly doubled, reaching 12 million total followers as of this month across TikTok, X, Instagram, Facebook and other platforms.

“With her advancement to reporter, Stephan will focus on news, features and analysis related content deals and business activity at Hollywood’s major studios and independent film distributors. She will also serve as Variety‘s primary reporter covering talent agencies and management firms. Based in Los Angeles, Stephan reports to Brent LangVariety‘s executive editor who oversees all film and media coverage.”
