Vanity Fair has hired Julia Black to cover tech and business.
She will start in January.
Black previously worked at The Information covering tech policy and the Trump administration. She has been writing features about the companies and people in the tech world since joining the tech news site in July 2023.
She previously was at Insider as a senior correspondent. Black, who reported a story for the website about Barstool Sports owner Dave Portnoy, focused on in-depth investigations about the people and companies shaping our culture today for Insider.
Black previously worked in book publishing at HarperCollins, before heading to Esquire to write about pop culture and edit features. She also worked at Bon Appétit.
As an investigative business reporter, Black’s work has also appeared in Billboard, The Daily Beast, and others. She has also been writing for the daily media newsletter Off the Record.
