Paul R. La Monica, a digital correspondent at CNN Business, has been laid off. La Monica covered the markets, economy and the technology sector.

He tweets:

“I’ll keep working until early March. After that? A much needed break to recharge after 21+ years! I feel awful for my amazing colleagues who are losing their jobs. But don’t cry for me. I’ll be fine. Now it’s time to get back to work!”

Previously, he was an editor at the Red Herring and an associate editor at SmartMoney.com. He wrote for the American Banker and reported for the Financial World.

La Monica graduated from the University of Pennsylvania.

Matt Quinn

Matt Quinn, a senior technology editor at CNN Business, was also laid off. Quinn’s tweet reads:

“I’ve had a lot of friends checking in on me so I will let everyone know that, yes, I was laid off by CNN yesterday. I’m so proud of the work we did over the past 3+ years but what I want to talk about are the people.”

Previously, he worked at Quartz as a deputy editor for finance and technology and as a technology editor. He was executive editor of Advertising Age and served as editor and deputy editor, CFO Journal at The Wall Street Journal.

He also worked at Inc. magazine, Financial Week and American Banker.

Quinn has a B.A. from the College of Holy Cross and a M.A. from New York University.
