The Triangle Business Journal has named Rebecca Troyer its editor in chief, replacing Sougata Mukherjee, who recently became its publisher.
Digital editor David Purtell writes, “Troyer has had multiple roles for American City Business Journals, TBJ’s parent company based in Charlotte. She was most recently director, newsletter publications, for ACBJ as well as a regional editor. Before that, Troyer led the Denver Business Journal newsroom as editor-in-chief from 2018 to 2021 following a stint as editor-in-chief of the Triad Business Journal in Greensboro.
“‘I’m thrilled to be back in the TBJ newsroom,’ Troyer said. ‘We’ll continue to deliver the business intelligence our Greater Triangle readers have come to expect from our award-winning news team.’
“Troyer’s journalism career also includes time as opinion editor at The Daily Press in Newport News, Virginia, where she was responsible for writing editorials, moderating public events and leading meetings of the editorial board. She received numerous state and national awards during her tenure as an editorial writer. Troyer was also a business reporter and editorial board member at the Herald-Times in Bloomington, Indiana.”
